It's really starting to annoy me!

i may have to hire a professional... I don't know anyone competent enough to take a good photo of myself with the right angle, DOF, etc...

There are always those photo booths ...

Im not photogenic so Im kind of happy there arent many of me. ANd you let other people touch your cameras? :stun:

That is the same question I asked myself!! lol I have a serious problem, I know. I can't share my camera with anyone!

Yea, I get that I can take a picture of myself (my avatar is a self pic), but it isn't exactly candid. At parties, or on a desert safari, or any other location that you just want some pictures taken, this isn't going to do it...

Oh, I see what you mean. Well I think that's what point and shoots are all about. Bring anywhere, anyone can operate one, etc. There was new one (Kodak I thought it was) between 8 and 12 MP, posted on here not long ago going for $75. :D

I'll try to find the ink...

Hmmm, there was this thread: http://thephotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130063 but that's not the one I was thinking of... Umm.. here it is: http://thephotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131426

I have a point and shoot and take pretty decent pictures with it, but that doesn't mean other people can :) For example, my camel would have been headless and footless, regardless of the camera...

teeheehee... Yeah, cameras don't come with operators. :D Teach your friends some basics... Start a photo club like in tupperware party format but around general photography, framing, exposure, etc. and serve yummy snacks. :) Keep it loose and fun and in a few meetings they'll get it. Then all that's left is making sure they aren't too drunk when you hand them the cam. :D

Yeah, it is a problem. That's why I always set the photo on high iso and wide angle to be sure I'll have a photo with no blur and will be able to crop it myself later. Still, I don't have many photos of myself since I am always the one with a camera. But well, now I am very happy that I discovered my girlfriend has a very good sence of composition. Her angles are so interesting that she actually has started to make me feel bad about my photos.

I have a point and shoot...

All of my self pictures have been done with a point and shoot, find the delayed shutter release, use a focusing aid.

With this one, I used the camera as the focusing point, and a ten second delay. Shot with my Kodak ES C743.

With this one, I used my biggest tripod to focus , and a ten second delay then replaced the tripod with my self during the delay. Also taken with Kodak ES C743.

I don't think people were getting what I was trying to say. I am just saying its impossible to get decent candids with my friends or situations that I can't set up a tripod or other timer.

I have a DSLR and P&S and either way, people just can't take decent pictures composition wise.

By the way, nice self portraits...
