Alright-here's what I did
1. Adjust curves. To do so, click on a bright spot while holding ctrl (or alt, I can't remember) and then the same for a darker one. drag the spots on the graph around until you're satisfied
2. Hue/saturation - I didn't do much. +3 saturation, and slight hue adjustment to counteract the slightly overpowering reds.
3. Sharpness - Filters, sharpen, Unsharp Mask. 75%, .5 pixels.
