Just a few of my favorite pictures

Hey guys, I am brand new here and I thought I should share some of my pictures... after all it is a photography forum! I figured I would do a general gallery rather than get the pics spread out all over. Anyway, here goes! (Sorry guys I didnt know what was a legal size for the pictures so I just kinda picked a size, I can change it if you all want.)



Here is one of my favorite from spring break. It was taken off a dock at our campground in Savannah, Georgia. It was a gorgeous day.



Here is one of the St. Paul Cathedral in St. Paul, MN. I love how blue the sky was that day and even though the Cathedral itself is a bit dark, I think it offsets the blue and white very nicely.



Another one from spring break, this one was on Tybee Island, Georgia. It was my first time to the Ocean, good times! I just wish the sun set in the East!



Heres a good one from my old show choir. They were really great, I miss it a lot. I have more of them but most are kinda blurry because in most others they were actually moving, this one is between songs.



And finally, this is my favorite picture I've ever taken. I took it from my old point and shoot digital camera (Kodak Easyshare C330) at my buddy's grad party the Friday before graduation last spring. It was a gorgeous night but there were people all over, I wish I could have taken more!

Anyway, those are some of my favorites. I have hundreds if not thousands more, but most wouldnt mean anything to anyone but me. Oh, I should also say all of these pics are originals, none of them have been altered in any way... you see them as they were taken off the camera. Enjoy!

Nice photos here and thank you for sharing.
Next time you go out and get flat horizons (like across the sea or so), a) make sure they are straight (and if they don't come out straight it is absolutely legitimate to straighten them in post processing!), and b) make sure they don't divide your photo into two identical halves. You will find out that a photo looks more interesting when the horizon line is either on the (imagined) border line of the upper third of the pic or that of the lower third.

I best like your third photo here. Horizon needs to be straightened by 1 degree counterclockwise. The diagonal line of the jetty adds to the photo, and the muted light is lovely. If that had been mine, I might have felt inclined to crop off the dark grey patch of dry sand in the foreground and only leave the reflection of the jetty on the wet sand.
