Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
My photographer gave me a cd with all my pictures on it. but it seems to only be a viewer, i can not print any pictures from the cd and i cant right click to save any pictures.
What can i do to print these pictures?
do i need some software to unlock the CD?
any info would help
thank you.

What were the terms of your contract? Were you supposed to get a CD with the photos for just viewing purposes and then go back to the photographer for prints? Or were you supposed to get the full-resolution photographs and be able to print them yourself?

it was for viewing only. but i want to make some prints from it, how can i do that?

Isn't that kinda unfair to your photographer?

I'm thinking you're not going to get many favourable responses from the forum members here. If you didn't like the terms of your contract or if you thought it was unfair you should have negotiated a better one, not try this.

Yeah. Viewing only means viewing only. Assuming there was a contract involved, it would be a breach of that contract for you to make prints, and the photographer is completely within their rights to lock the CD. And they could probably sue you for making prints.

Of course this can be cracked...it´s quite simple.

And while you are on this subject...have you thought about moving to Asia where you can scan and print the new Harry Potter book and bootleg the next story in The Bourne Conspiracy series...?

...tons of money could be made.

What do you have to do to make a CD "viewing only"?
That interests me much!!!
Anyone knows?

confabulated viewers are available that scramble data, or you can do the viewer in a dvd only format which can't be explored.

i let them have small files, 400x600, if they knew what they were doing they could get fine 4x6 prints. . . but if its that big of a deal they can have free 4x6's.

i make people buy a minimum amount of prints anyways, so they already will invest in an amount that is profitable to me regardless of if i hear from them again. (but i hope to)

I usually put a water mark in the image and make the photos low resolution so they aren't printable anyway. Then let them choose what they want printed and go from there.
