just joined and upgrading my photo equipment

hi everyone, i just joined this group. we're doing a lot of travel on our sailboat and while i'm back in the u.s. i want to upgrade my nikon d50 and lenses: nikon af 28-88, nikon af nikkor 70-300, nikkor micro 55mm 1:28, nikon af nikkor 35-80. i take a lot of close ups and outdoor shots.

i was looking at the d90 because i can use my existing lenses although i don't think the 70-300 is very good quality and the micro is really stiff to use. of course i've waited until the last minute to consider a sale at my local camera store. they suggested the d90 which comes with the 18-105 wide angle and buying the tamron 70-300 on sale and Nikkor AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm VR Macro, also on sale.

i'm having a hard time spending this much money ($1930) all at once and i could use some comments or suggestions for price checking and if these would be the best choices for lenses.
