Well, I think the General Gallery will give you all you are asking for here, DarkGT, for this is the right place for general comments and critique - Photo Critique, where it was originally placed, has some guidelines which are just a bit ... different.

I like the inclusion of the powerline in the first, only do I find that first (well, the second, too) a bit dark. Could be brightened up and would still be ok. But the little Christmas lights that work with electrical power plus the powerline that BRINGS that power to the house is a nice idea. Cool play with short DOF, too, and the focus is just right.
