I've been growing weary of writing laboratory reports in Microsoft Word, and I plan to advance to latex. Does anyone have any experience with it? I'm having trouble figuring out what software I need to start experimenting. And I've heard there's something that lets me preview what I've written.
I find the whole topic a bit confusing, I just know it's good. My brother-in-law has urged me to start using this.
