learnin' the ropes

Hello All,

I am new to this board, new to DSLR, and kinda new to photography in general. My name is Warren, I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. I had some limited experience in the past with my old 35mm SLR, and made the move to digital way back with a 2MP Fuji. This spring, I was looking for a new expensive hobby so I picked up a 40D with a 17-85 IS kit lense and have been running rampant at the camera shops and on amazon since. I now have a 430EX, Sigma 10-20mm EX, Sigma 30mm 1.4 EX, Canon 50mm 1.8, Sigma 70-300 DG, Manfrotto mag-fiber tripode with a few different heads, and an assortment of stuff that I probably didnt need. :lol:

I also have a Canon HV20, and other hoobies include home theater and tinkering with PCs although I am getting into Macs now.

No pics to post yet, I am at work but will try to get something up soon. I will be looking for any tips or tricks from the pros.
