Lens filters

I hear the UV filter is a good one to just leave on for protection. Is it fine indoors as well as outdoors? How about for black and white, will the UV work ok?

Also, on the circular polarizer, does it darken the sky when shooting B&W film? Thanks.

The UV filter is OK to use indoors as well as outdoors. Some remove it when they don't feel the need for protection, but others keep it on all the time. One thing to watch out for is lens glare if you do not have a hood and are shooting where direct light can reflect off of it.
