lense question

hey, i was thinking of buying a wide angle lens for cheap but it is for canon manual focus cameras. could i use this on my af camera if the mode is set on manual. the lense is a tokina fd 28mm lens and the camera is a canon eos elan 7e. thank u

it should work. just no auto focus.

NO!!!

Old style manual focus lenses for Canon cameras use the FD mount. AF Canon cameras use EOS lens mount. They are not interchangable.

Yes, it will fit if you twist really hard, and hit it with a hammer. Have a roll of duck tape on hand.

I don't feel bad about helping to hijack this thread because I think KS answered the original question really well and probably saved the guy from a costly mistake.
It also left some great opportunities for silly comments!
