Hi everyone,

I am completely new to photography but will be going to alaska for bear/whale watching and hiking in a few weeks. I just bought a used Nikon D80 from a friend (just the camera house) and I am looking to buy two lenses to use for my trip to alaska (preferrably one telephoto). I do not really want to spend too much money because I don't really know that much about photography (looking to buy the lenses used), although still obviously want good value for my money...

I know it's obviously not a lot of background info, but does anyone have any recommendations based on this?

Thanks!

I have heard great things about the 18-200mm, two lenses in one. It will probably cost twice as much as you paid for the D80.

If you can afford it I would say get
Nikon 18-55mm
Nikon 55-300mm

Pretty good basic kit lenses.
