I found a new place to photograph and happened to stumble upon it at sunset. 9 exposure HDR

Whooohooo. What colours!
Sometimes I think I might have to learn to produce HDR photography, but then I also think: this is NOT what it looked like to the naked eye, and although it does give all the detail, it is still a tad beyond "natural", and I might come to the conclusion that I personally prefer "natural" a bit more. That, however, is no critique, only a comment of mine, "thinking aloud", as it were.
Though it'd still be good to have the knowledge, to KNOW how to produce photography of this kind!

You only get mere moments to take a shot like this. Nice job.

I would have left or cloned out the one boat on the side. Try to avoid any small leaf tips, twigs from gettings into the frame, or get lower to include more of the foreground.

The Sky and the water look great. The forest seems a bit too green considering that the sun is behind it.

Good job. I really need to learn how to do HDR instead of the fauxHDR.

Put your camera on a tripod and point it at something interesting. Then adjust your aperture to f11, and set your shutterspeed so the highlights in the scene arent blown. Take your shot. Then increase your shutter speed by 1fstop and keep taking pics until the darkest part of your image has some detail. Put the files through Photomatix Pro and voila -- a great HDR image.

Very nice capture. Add me to the list of people who think the green is just a bit too saturated. I think if you shifted it to a bit more desaturated blue it would be a better color combination (blue being the complimentary of the dominant orange in this photo).

Beautiful scene! Too often you find funny-looking HDR pictures, but this one's really good. This is how you do it and why you do it.

I agree, very pleasant scene! I also agree that if you take down the green saturation it will look more natural and have an "evening" mood to it. I think the reds are fine. It would also help if you could remove the stray leaves with content aware fill in photoshop, or just notice them next time. Stray little things like that are really hard to see though when your starting at a sunset like that!

Id also be interested in seeing this with a GND filter and long exposure. Great job!
