Lighting systems

My husband bought a lighting system for me for Christmas and come to find out, one of the lights isn't responding. It is a Photgenic Studio Max 300. We are wondering first, is that a good system and second what are some recommendations that you have?? I am just starting out and would like to go pro with my photography. I do not currently have a studio, so they would be going with me on shoots. I'd appreciate any input you have!! Thanks!!!

photogenics are a pretty good brand of monolights.

did you buy them brand new? just might want to double check your connections and what not. if it still doesn't work, notify your place of purchase and ask for a replacement.

by the way -- don't ever touch the bulbs with your bare hands, whatever you do. use a clean cloth or paper towel.
