Lighting...

Ok...my rigged up DIY lighting is not gonna work the way I have it now.

The lights are way too bright, and my eyes still hurt from when I was testing them out with a self portrait.

That would work??? Or am I just screwed?

Well, I use the reflecting umbrellas and I got a pair that has a shoot through umbrella as well that can use as a diffuser. Do you have an off camera flash for your Rebel? I've had really good success with natural light through a window and my 550 flash. I know Aubrey has done a lot with make your own lighting so I'll ask him at lunch if he has any suggestions. What lighting are you using right now? Can you take a picture of your set up? That might help give me a better idea of what you are working with.

Does anyone know any sites that have do it yourself lighting instructions??? I just remembered...DUH! I have a friend who is an electrician!!! He said he'd help me if I can find something about how to do it.
