Linking Flashes Together

I have 3 different speedlights for my Canon cameras. Is there a way to attach them together with cords and hotshoe attachments. I was thinking of building stands for them to use as a minature, portable lighting setup for head shots and still lifes....

Is there any kind of setup for this or am I thinking crazy????

If there is, any links to it, or general price ideas would be great..

What models do you have?

The top two models 580/550 & 430/420 will work wirelessly...in a master / slave relationship. The 580/550 can act as a master or slave and the 430/420 are slave only. You could also get the ST-E2, to sit on the hot-shoe and act as a master to the slave flashes.
