Local Baseball

These are some pics from last year, I haven't had a chance to get out this year yet. with 100+ heat indexes it's hard to get motivated to sit outside! The Saltdogs are our local Independent league baseball team here in Lincoln. Pics taken with D3100 70-200 lens. I'm debating if I want to spend the money on a f/2.8 70-200 for something that is just a hobby. ( baseball and hockey)
I need to work on my timing, was trying to get the ball coming off the bat, or the ball as the pitcher was throwing it. The focus was manual, so probably need to work on that as well. Thanks.

Is it just my screen or are they all out of focus?

Not sure, they look ok on my end, but with my luck they probably are OOF.
Edited to add, If you blow them up big, they def aren't crisp but I'm guessing it's due to at least two factors if not more, manual focus and the size I shot in.
