I think it came out very nice. The only thing it seems to be lacking, in my humble opium, is something in the eyes. Either catchlight or some reflected goodness, something. I don't mean it has to do the "photographer reflection in the eyes" thing, but I mean just sold yellow and black like that they look almost dead.

But even so, great composition and details

I agree with dmitri, if there were some gloss to those eyes it would take this shot to the next level which would be 'god-like'. very nice.

Also agree...it looks like there's a slight hint of catch-light in the left eye at 11 o-clock. Very kewl shot!

Thx for all your comments on this one.
I think Lextalionis is right about the slight catch light left.
I (as far as i can remember) did not flash the owl.
It is taken though through the bars of it's cage at the zoo.
