My first attempt at Focus Stacking.

I have a Nikon D7100 and a Tamron 90 mm macro lens. I set up a copy stand and used "Control My Nikon" software to shoot a stack of images at f8 & 1/60. I used my SB800 flash in Remote mode and the flash on the D7100 in Commander mode to provide lighting. I set a 2 second delay between images and the flashes fired each time. Examination of individual images show even lighting.

A series of 25 images with a 50nm separation for each was used.

The first image is a fired .30 cal bullet, recovered from ballistic gelatin. The second is a piece of wave weathered concrete recovered from the Chesapeake Bay.

The images, after processing with Zerene Stacker, came out just "Meh".... Any suggestions on how to improve would be welcome.
