Lubitel

I'm seriously looking at a lubitel medium format camera. I understand that while it has occasional light leaks, the optics are good and it has soome good features on it. What do lubitel owners think about their cameras and how bad are the leaks and can they be reduced?

I cannot advise on the Lubitel -- no data = no opinion.

I can, however, suggest you consider a Minolta Autocord [used] as an alternative. I have found the camera to be robust and the optics are satisfactory. The bayonet fitting on the lens is identical to the Rollei.

what ive heard is that the optics are not good on lubitels, and focusing is a pain in the ass.

If you wana have some fun with these tanks, I have a Kiev66 (Hassy clone) I can sell ya for $150 shipped in the US. It has a lens, 2 backs (one isn't working you can try your hand at fixing it) prism finder. It's in good working condition and cosmetically is excelent.
