Lurker Finally Posting

Hey Everyone, I have been lurking here for about a month now and finally am going to post. I'm Rachel, 28, been shooting for awhile now but have really buckled down in the last 8 months or so.

I have a few pictures that I shot this past Sunday of my niece and would love to get some CC from you guys on what I can do better. As a forewarn, I shot in my nieces TINY bedroom with absolutely no room to back up on an extremely dreary day (hence the high iso). so i'm completely aware of my major limb chopping but here they are.

I am currently shooting with a canon 40d and was using my 50mm 1.8

Hi Rachel,
The baby is very cute, and the posing considering your conditions are pretty good. My only advice would be to tone down the highlight side of the face and try and bring down your exposure so that it is not so contrasty.
