Macro Moths / Butterflies

Not sure whether these are moths or butterflies. I found them around outside where I live.

I think they are moths because of the hairy bodies but not sure.

Been taking a lot of macro shots lately with my new lens.

Very well done; I really like the top one. It looks to me like he's saying "Hey, you, with the camera, sod off!" :lol:
 
Thank you. Yeah, he was hard to catch. Everytime I got close he would fly off, so I stayed in one spot and waited for him.
 
Beautiful pictures and great macro! I believe they are skippers but I'm not sure. Is the first one on aHoneysuckle? My avatar is a moth also, I love the big ones. I wish I could get those shots to, but I'm stuck over what camera to get!

I was able to ID them.

The first is a European Skipper

The second is a Common Checkered Skipper.
 
Im guessing moths just because of the Proportion difference between their bodies and their wing size. Usually butterflies have larger wings in proportion to their body size. Just a thought.
