Makeup for B&W digital portraiture

I am looking for guidelines for applying makeup on individuals for actors B&W headshots. I have 7 years of experience in applying makeup for the stage, but I'm not sure of what adjustments I need to make for the camera - specifically B&W, but color also.

Does anyone have any experience in this - or know of where good guidelines are available online?
