Hi, I just did my first photo shoot with my Canon 20D, and I am wondering what is the easiest way to process the photos from their huge size down to a smaller size, so I can send them to my lab and have 4x6 proofs made. I have the general software that came with the camera as well as Photoshop 7. Thanks for any help or advice,

Lally

i just send them in their huge size without reducing them at all.

But if you really want to reduce them try selecting the crop tool, set the dimensions in the options panel to 4cm deep x 6cm wide and input 300 in the dpi. Now crop your picture by dragging your cursor from the top left on the photo to the bottom right. You can adjust it to get the crop you are happy with. then double click on any area within the cropped selection.

Now your picture will be 4x6 at 300dpi. 300dpi is usually enough for most.

I would make sure you dont save over your originals though because you might decide that you want a particular picture to be printed larger than 4x6 at a later date and increasing the size of your cropped pictures would reduce the quality
