Mamiya 645 1000s Battery Question

Just purchased a Mamiya 645 1000s that has had only two rolls of film shot in it. Ihave seen the manual list of batteries for it but as most ou you who own older cameras the batteries are getting harder to find.
What battery do you recommend for long life and low cost ? Please list a make and model number. Also can the newer Lithium batteries be used ?

Wow, I used to use the Mamiya 645's before I switched to digital. The battery is a px28, or 4sr44. Good Luck

Lithium should be OK... I'd stick to alkaline or silver oxide though to be safe. I have a Duracell 28A (4LR44) in my Bronica ETRS, works fine. $3.50 locally at Batteries Plus. It's not terribly hard to find, lots of other devices use the battery.
