Mamiya 645 Pro Manual Film Advance Crank, Explanation Needed

Hi peeps, I’ve tried sprocket hole photography on my 645 Pro recently and got 6 exposures on a 24-exposure 35mm film. I was considering buying the manual film advance crank, but as the thing is expensive as f###, wanted to ask whether it is gonna help me get more exposures or not. So the question is - can I advance the film how much I want with the manual crank? Aka is it possible to advance in small amounts and shoot, or is there a predefined amount of rotation that has to be done to take the next shot?

The purpose of the crank is to allow a swift rotation to
both advance the film and ready the shutter — better
when shooting models but not so still live photography.

If the film wouldn't advance beyond 6 frames and you are using the correct film back and insert for 35mm then I don't think forcing it is a good idea. I would suggest finding out what is wrong and fixing that.
