Managing team/group photos

What is the best way to manage photos from a photo shoot such as a sports team where you will need to distinguish individuals? For example, every team member is placing an order, but little suzy wants package A and jenny wants package B and some extra prints. What kind of systems do people use to keep track of everyone and know whos who?
