I was under the impression that this forum catered to all levels of photography experience and equipment.

I appreciate your comment, however, the question was directed at the Digital Camera equipment level mainly, not photographic experience. I am converting from film to Digi. I learnt my photography in the sixties, exposing half plate sheets.when I moved to digi, my film kit included 6X6 Mamiya, Konicas and Pentax. Until 1998 (ish) I was a specialist freelance. So I know a little about photography...but less than a little about digi. Hence the question. My camera was a gift to an old snapper.

Speaking of which, I went down to my friends basement to grab a few brews; and I guess I opened the wrong fridge because it was filled with a sh%& load of film Oo.

Nope, but they heard my f-bomb and were laughing when I found out the beer fridge was next to it lol. What I can't believe he had rows of film with different ISO on them Oo weeeird.

No, my film days are done, I already have about 100,000 negatives/transparencies which I have started scanning, life in the darkroom no longer appeals to me. Basic digital (sorry about "digi") is so simple, and instant, and the cost difference between film images and digital images is a no brainer.
Yes, Mansfield isn't too far from Chesterfield.(but I am an incomer...greatest part of my life was in Bristol.)

My partner was from Forrest Town, and the greatest part of my life was in St Ives Cornwall, I'm just trying out some Foma 120 film only £15 for 5 rolls delivered
got a nice bit of grain in the first roll, but have refined my developing

FYI: film shooting was easier to understand :er:

After shooting film for in excess of 30 years, I had a better understanding of that than I have of digital. Film shooting was as simple or complicated as the user chose. I liked the technique of Ansel Adams and used at least some of his methods, but have yet to work out how to apply to digital.

Foma is not a brand I know at all, and it is so long since I did any processing. I used to shoot mainly B/W, film of choice was Ilford FP4, processed in ID11, and fixed in Amfix. I printed on Ilford Multigrade resin coated paper or Ilford Gallery paper if I wanted display or portfolio prints...no, those days are long gone thank goodness.

It is made in the Czech Republic and has quite a cult following

I'm new here too and have learned a lot I have got in trouble (my fault) but these folks on here are great they try to help us out .to everyone on here thanks for helping me and letting me stay
