hi, im not a photographer i do stencils but here we go.

i usually make the stencils out of photos i take. im trying to get a shot of myself.
heres the hard part.
-I want the back ground all black
-the only part visible is about half of my face.
(like the bruce lee photo, where you can only see half his face and two fists)
it would be great if you folks can help me out.

Im not exactly sure of the result you are hoping for but 2 things comes to mind. One is just half your face so that one would be to just take a picture of yourself and crop the part you want. The other would be to have half the face in shadow. Some night when its dark, set up a light to your one side, ahead of you a bit, so hal fo fyour face is lighted and either using a camera on a tripod and timer or a mirror, take a picture of yourself that way. :0).
 
thanks very much. the second thing is exactly what im going for. to get the right part of the face and right amount of light is a trial and error sort of thing i guess.
