http://www.flickr.com/photos/jdub1980/6351933511/This shot was taken on a clear night late september along the Cabrillo highway in Swanton, ca. A single 30 sec exposure, f3.5 aperture, ISO 1600 Sony Alpha a390 DSLR tripod mounted with no astrophotography equipment. I'm a newb a astro photography and I was pleased with the composition of this shot after processing in adobe Lightroom. Please feel free to comment and critique. Also I'd love to learn tips from other astro shooters or night photogs alike.

Looks like the noise treatment, or whatever you did there, is over processed. Not sure how your Sony's sensor handle noise. I typically use between ISO1600~2400 on my D700, using 20mm lens at around F4~5.6, 30sec.

did you remember to set your focus to manual and infinity? It seems like either the noise processing was too much, or the picture is not in focus.
