Miniature Pomeranian

We were spending some time at my girlfriends parents house this past weekend, and their cute little mini pomeranian decided to pose for the camera right under a beautiful shaft of light coming in from the window.
Both are on a 5D - 50 1.4 prime - 1/640 - f/1.4 - iso200
I should of probably went with a higher f stop but I really was concerned with blurring out the distracting background. Either way I want to print one of these for a christmas present, not sure which one to pick... what do you guys think?
