Moon Shots - There's Hope Yet!

Thanks guys!

I took another one tonight and I think I'm going to be happy with the results. This one was:

200 ISO (base)
1/160th
F16 (it's a bright one!)

I'll download/upload it at work tomorrow and post it up!

Thanks for the help, it's a trick subject to nail but thankfully it moves slow ;)

..... but thankfully it moves slow ;)
Sorry, but that is incorrect. The moon moves rather quickly through the sky.
That is the misnomer. Thus another part of the equation for a fast shutter speed..... along with the brightness.

Tried my hand at a star trail while I was at it, I could only see one but there were many more captured.

Here's my latest moon attempt... not real thrilled with it, but it was taken on a tripod at F/18 and 1/200 (ISO200).

Good shots! I went out to experiment with the moon last night. I didn't do as well as you. I really was thinking that I needed longer shutter speeds....but it just didn't work out. I was up above 20sec on shutter, and at that point I wonder if the earths rotation caused blur?

Either way, I'll be trying again. Thanks for posting.
