More Andromeda Galaxy

It comes from cities. Street lights, businesses, etc. all put off light that goes up into the atmosphere. It's easiest to see from a distance over cities in the form of the light dome that projects outward. There can also be naturally occurring light pollution due to things like ionized gasses in the atmosphere. Similar to the Auroras.
I'm sorry I just woke up. Are you capturing space from within a city? Or near one? Holy cow. Or do you mean it doesn't matter how far away you get, there's still light pollution?

Yes, I'm right next to a larger city. Light pollution is often measured on a bortle scale. Bortle 1 is virtually zero man made light pollution, all the way up to 9, which basically completely washes out the sky. I image from a bortle 5 area. Tokyo, for example, is a bortle 9.

Atmospheric sky glow can also happen naturally, but is a much lesser issue than man made light pollution.

Sorry to read. It takes me 40 minutes drive out of city to leave all light pollution.
