Been hunting Dragonflies and Butterflies like crazy and working on my macro skills. I just can't get enough of these guys. One thing I have learned is that there is a lot of patience needed to get close to them!

Let me know what you guys think.

I like how they will turn around to check you out as you move closer.

Thanks for looking!

Kyuss that is very impressive set of shots!
I admit I am now very very jealous of number 7!
Its end of the season here so things are starting to hide (plus I am in a new area so I don't know where anything is -- barring daddly longlegs ! ;))

Definatly doing well with you kit there - hope to see more of your work!

Thanks Overread!

Yeah, around here its getting closer to the end of the season and its harder and harder to find them. My usual dragonfly pond is empty so I've been going to this nearby lake and there are a lot there! They are just harder to get to than the other place.

The in flight one is very impressive and the nice portraits too. Great stuff. It would have been nicer to see them a little larger as they certainly deserver it.

Wow, well done! The colour, detail and depth of field in the first one is lovely. I like the crop you chose in #2. And the one of the dragonfly flying towards the plants is a great capture.

Thank you for the comments!

Heres another. Playing around with boarders.

wow, those are some nice shots! Since I just recently tried to shoot this realm of photography, I definitely understand how difficult these were to get.

Thanks DRATOM.

I went back today and there were next to nil there!?

Very weird, its usually hit or miss I guess.
