You handled the extremely contrasty light pretty well and it's a good composition. However, I wish you hadn't clipped the top of the person's head on the left. There is also a bit of a tilt.

I agree with the above statement, that said, beautiful B&W; I'm not certain the man on left is essential to the picture, try cropping him out maybe ?

Thanks for looking and the comments. I tried a crop without the man, but wasn't happy with it because then it seemed like the lady could've been sitting at any window -- I thought the other person, facing away, established the public nature of the scene and that it was a transit carriage. I realized much later the clipping of the man's head -- lesson for next time!
