Maybe a bit of grain could have added that 'bit extra' or maybe even a low DOF to create a nice effect.

You can't go wrong with chrome in black and white. I don't think noise would help this image, this one is all about the smooth reflections and specular highlights. Wonderful image. Only quibble would be that I'd like to see the whole name plate. Very nice conversion

I think you're right actually, on a second viewing, the chrome needs no grain. I was thinking it would give it a great classical look though...
