If I use a Nikon D80 in commander mode, with an off camera SB800 and SB600 at the same time, will the power output be the same for the two off camera flashes? Or will the 800 be stronger than the 600, leading to uneven flash?
Thanks

98 for the 600, and 125 for the 800

So the SB800 is a little more powerful. It won't be by much. What you can do to test individual exposures is once you have all your lights setup, go through and fire each one, one at a time. Then fire them all together. That way you can see exactly which light is doing what and how they work together and which ones need to be adjusted up or down.

Ed: And you can use the GN to determine the power.

GN / distance to subject = Aperture
GN / Aperture = distance to subject

I don't remember off the top of my head, but for every two stop in power down, you halve the GN?

so at 1/4 the SB600 would be 49.

SB600 - 1/4 power GN49 / 10' from subject = f/4.9
SB800 - 1/4 power GN62.5 / 13' from subject = f/4.8XXX

I'm not sure about the GN according to power, but the equations are right.

thank you village idiot, i will give it a try. I don't think it would be a huge difference either.
