Canon 550D with 100mm/f2.8 Macro USM lens. 1/20 sec, f8, 400 ISO. You will need to see this shot full screen for full impact.
This is a shot of a decaying, sawed off, 1.5 ft diameter stump. The shot itself is only about 7 inches across (but looks much larger) and only a small section of the stump. Some may not consider it maco work, but I was in pretty darn close. Spent about 1/2 hour (with lots of mosquitos) on setting up the composition and getting the natural lighting to work. The image revovles around the little "stump" sticking up at right-center (draw a line through it in any direction!). The dinosaour egg (right of center) is actually part of an acorn shell, giving an idea of size. One does get the feeling that this is shot of a Jarassic era scene.
