Well, you read it right! This was my first wedding as a second. I've shot my fair share on my own, but when I was first getting going in the industry no one would let me tag along, paid or not. Christine, the bride, had actually contacted me about doing this wedding, but due to some timing we just couldn't get together for contracts, deposits etc. She was thrilled to hear I was going to be there, and her MOH is the mom of a girl I shot last year.

I really tried to stay back and not take any of the mains shots. There was always something else to be shooting anyways. We battled heavy rainstorms the entire time as well. Fun stuff.

It was a fun experience, and time permitting, I hope I can do a few more. :)

C&C is appreciated, as always. And please dont mind the different sized logo - I didnt resize images first (duh) and becasue these are only posted here I didnt bother to redo ;)

If you said you were the primary you could of fooled me

See.. this is an example of what 2nd shooter should do. These photos can easily be added to the set. Dont bother shooting if the B&G obviously looking at the main photographer's camera. If they do, shoot it a totally different angle like #10. Nice job K!

It's photos like these that always make me think if I ever did get into wedding photography that I'd rather be a 2nd shooter than a primary. Love those sort of quirky in between moments and the small details and shots from new angles. In a lot of ways I think you did an awesome job of showing what a 2nd shooter can do, due ot the increased freedom that comes with not having to get the 'traditional money shots'. Especially considering you're used to being a primary. Great job.

As I looked at these photos, two things particularly struck me:

1) How well done they are; well-composed and well-exposed, fun, interesting shots (well, not a fan of the sofa on the beach, but not because of the photo quality--I just don't LIKE the "sofa on the beach" kind of setups). While I don't plan to have another wedding anytime soon (what with H*ll being in no apparent danger of freezing over), if I could someday choose who would shoot my sons' weddings, this is what I would look for.

2) Photo 2: That jacket/scarf/whatever she has folded over her arm--I sure hope she was just HOLDING that for someone else, because wow, does that ever clash with the large floral print she's wearing!!

Yup, 6,8 and 9 are the real standouts for me as well. Nice job!

Wonderfully done, Kristal! Did you enjoy it as much as you do Boudoir?

If these are your secondary shots the primary may want to include some of these in with his. Awesome job. I love the different angles rather than old standard shots most people get for their money.

Your the kind of person that I would like to shoot my wedding! I love this set!
