Took this pic of my Black Lab, Cash, the other day...

I lightened it a little bit, as my computer is REALLY dark... let me know if it needs it or not! C&C welcome...

Is the bale behind his head a distraction?

Clear question, clear answer: yes, it is.
If you hadn't asked, this would have been the first thing for me to point out. It looks like it is growing out of his head.

I do like your POV here (point of view), you went down to where he is and I much appreciate that. You might have wanted to open up your aperture more, to blur out the background more?

Lightwise this is ok.
My screen is quite bright and I still find this photo ok.

How good are you at cloning things out in PS?
Would you want to give that hay bale a try?

I'm pretty good and cloning.. but the computer that PS is on is in the shop... once it's back I'll give it a try.
