My domain wont find the index page?! help!

Me again!

Ok so I registered my new domain name and uploaded what I have built so far. However when I type the address in it loads a blank page! Yet all the other pages work, which I can only get to by typing the full page name for them.

I named the homepage index as you do so why would it not load!?

Any help would be great!

What domain company are you with?

If you just got it all done, it might take a day or so for things to take affect.

Webfusion, they have hosted my other site for a while now.

They did say it could take up to 72 hours. But if it wasn't ready I assume none of the pages would be visible? I can view everything except the index at the moment?

Depending on how the host is setup, sometimes it may have to be index.htm or index.html, but not always both will work. In other cases, some even use default.htm or default.html. That sounds like the most likely problem, try to verify that with your host.

Ok I'll give index.html a go in a min and see how we get on with that.

FIO rget what my other site is, I was sure its htm but I'll have to check, I imagine it will be the same as that one being as its with the same company.

make sure you refresh...try using f5 for a proper browser refresh...

Most servers have a list of pages they will default to, but you can customize the options and by default windows and unix/linux servers use different options.
