My first attempt...

so it was my first try at some water foul. I tried to get the swans, but they kept swimming away! My 70-200 mm lens was not enough for it. Also, on the shots that I did have, the swans were completely blown out. Whats the secret?

I really like this! Very good first attempt, I must say, though you did not manage to capture those birds that you had wanted to capture. But this is really nice. The composition would have been even better if the goose that's coming ashore had been on the other side of the frame, but I still like this one quite much, too, compositionally. The look on its face is nice, a bit cheeky .

Always shoot your swans under exposed at least 1/3 to 1/2.
