Heyyy, ya got some awesome shots there! The closeup of the eagle is incredible. Great job.

The two shots you directly linked to are incredible. The closeup on the bald eagle is printworthy, no question.

I agree, amazing photo's. What lens did you use on the first photo?
How did you get the black background on the second?

Thanks everyone  . It was taken with a Sigma 50-500. The black background is caused by the extreme contrast between the bird in the sunlight and the wood area in the shade. Thanks for the name check Andy, George and Mike were in the book all along!

I like the grumpy expression in this shot.
It's a great catch!

Tim fantastic shooting!!!!!

Can you post pictures rather than links as there are probably more lazy people than me around who can't be bothered to click a link.

And by the way the first one ain't a RED KITE. It could be a Bateleur Eagle.

Are you coming with us on tuesday? weather permitting.

Cheers Hoppy. I will change the name sometime. Whats the plan for Tuesday? I might be available but have stuff to do before RIAT starts. We will see.

:D

By the way, how is that sigma 50-500? Is it as versatile as it seems or does it get unwieldy? How's the image quality? It seems like it produces some wonderful shots.

I find that the 50-500 lens is fine. Takes a little time to get used to it but with good practice it can produce some good pictures. I recommend it if you are on a big lens budget but personally i think id prefer a Canon 100-400 with a 1.4 convertor.....if i had the money :er:

Cheers
