actually i used a soft focus filter in photoshop...

i know that it's a bat attempt though :blushing:

How can you shoot at the moon or sun directly?

firstly do you mind not posting such a large file. 1000pixels is ample.

to photo the moon you need a good long telephoto lens.

I do not advise you photograph the sun at this stage as eyesight is important for photography and you can ruin your sensors if you don't do it properly. Research it.

Lastly well done for having the balls to post your picture as your are right it isn't a very good one. But we are all here to learn, so keep practising reading books, watching the video tutorials and get out there and take photos as that is the best way to improve.

How can you shoot at the moon or sun directly?

The moon is not that hard.

Make sure you have some form of zoom (around 200 mm or more would be good)
Put camera on tripod.
I use liveview so i can zoom in digitally on the moon and focus properly. Also you can see how shutterspeed and apperture wil influence your exposure. Make sure ISO is not too high to avoid noise.

once everything is set, I use the selftimer at 10sec to elminate any shake.
