Hi,

I'm not sure about the first image, it's very dark so there is no detail to the sides and it's slanted to the left; with all the lines that are converging on the centre this slant seems to be increased as an optical illusion. I read a blog recently that said the 'rule of thirds' shouldn't be thought as it's restricting, but for me this image is one that proves the rule's validity, the vanishing point being pretty much dead centre just doesn't work for me.

On the second image, it took me a while to figure out what was irking me and I think it's the balance, the left flower head is very far from the frame edge when compared to the right flower head, I'd be tempted to crop this image.

Roses are incredible.
I like the first one as well, but I would make the closer exposion brighter a bit.

i like both shots. I dont think the flowers in the second shot could have a little more detail in them.
