so, the other day i had to take care of my little cousins, so i figured id kill 2 birds with one stone by keeping them entertained, and fooling arround with my new alien bees unit

How many lights are you using? I would suggest getting them away from the background. Gives them some seperation and you don't get those heavy shadows. Could be my screen, but they look a little dark to me.
