so anyway I help out running the school's SU(christian organisation) website...

its called banbacsu (banbridge academy su)... here's the banner I made for it! i thought it looked good

Basically just a candle on a bible. I even used my old point and shoot just for convenience!

Oh I really like this one! Do you think it's obvious enough that this is the bible? I'm not so sure. Maybe more text could be visible, or maybe a particular part that says 'bible' immediatly, if you know what I mean.
But the light and the idea: :thumbup:

100% agree with Puscas. I really like it. Maybe if the type that is visible had chapter & verse numbers visible, that would be enough without being too in your face. Right now, it could be just about any book. Looks real good, though!

Different idea along the same line: Instead of overtly showing a header with the chapter and verse, pick some verses that "everyone knows" and find one that's in the right spot on the page to photograph the same way as this one. The other thing I would do is use a Bible that displays in paragraph form instead of giving each verse its own line, so that you have more text showing. Just my opinion, take it how you like

It's a great photo, and it makes an awesome banner.

I think you have a great idea here and it was light perfectly

personally i think the text (website) could be a different font and color it looks out of place to me. maybe if you had an old style font? www.dafont.com has a lot of stuff you might want to check it out

but besides the text the rest is perfect

thanks for the positive comments and ideas! I'll maybe have a go at trying to perfect it later on when it's dark!

The reason I used blue font is because the forum itself is blue, and it sort of ties in, but I shall have a go with some other fonts!

I actually like it the way it is. I think that having the text be subtle is good in that not everyone will realize it's a Bible verse, but those that do will go, "Oh wow, that's really cool and subtle," and think they know more than other people.

I would recommend making it narrower, though. I'm on a 17" laptop screen now and I have my browser open to cover about 70-80% the width of the 1440 px-wide screen, and I have to scroll to see it all. Maybe narrow it to 800 or 900 px (800 is a good standard, which is still over 11" on a 72 dpi monitor).

thing is that with the browser maximised, it perfectly fills the box at the top of the forum. I'm not so good with writing websites or anything so im only trying to get it to fit in with what i've got!

And I reckon people will realise it's a Bible, saying it's a religious site.

I tried photographing it with the verse "I am the light of the world" alongside, but it's near on impossible to focus both the flame and the verse!
Would have been great if it could have worked though!
