I would have preferred her face to have been in focus. It looks too soft as all the focus seems to be on the hand.

Oh, and tell her you're supposed to take the outside off before you play conkers with those things :wink:

Love the DOF here! Great expression on her face.

I'd agree with wanting her to be more sharply in forcus, especially with this great DOF, but it still works. Nice job.

Very nice composition. I too would have prefered the DOF to be adjusted to her face was in more focus. Not perfect focus, but just a little sharper.

I did not photoshop the background. Its just the 50mm f1.4 lens..my favorite lens.
She is from India.

It's not in good focus but that looks like a seed ball from a sweetgum tree. Liquidambar Styrucifula if I remember my dendrology. Probably didn't spell it right but I think that's close.

Yes, throwing those at friends and siblings is required activity at a certain age.
