Hi all. I have quite a debate on my hands. In these situations, as with other hobbies of mine, I've found a tremendous amount of information on internet forums. Which leads me to... TPF!! :goodvibe: I'm SICK of our old crappy digital camera. It takes about ten minutes to warm up(slight exaggeration) AND when you push the button to take the picture, it takes the actual picture about ten minutes later(slight exaggeration). :x  These are two very bad problems to have when you're trying to capture the moment. I have a two year old daughter and she doesn't sit still. It's really frustrating to know how many blurry pictures and back of heads I have. After "googling" and what not, I've discovered the hobby of photography. Which brings me to the debate, Whether to get another compact P&S or drop the cash on a dSLR?!?! Hmmmm.................... Matt
Matt, welcome aboard. Why not consider an all-mechanical SLR like the Pentax K1000? They will be ready whenever you want and shoot the picture at the moment you depress the button.
