It looks like you painted out the background in an editor, which is distracting. I would crop in instead. There's an aweful lot of dead space in the image now, and the subject's back is to it. Maybe put the left crop just at his shoulder or chop a little of it off. Don't be afraid of getting in close to your subject. I think you picked a good subject to photograph.

Yeah, he was in Toronto doing a book signing and talk while I was up meeting some friends. Too bad it wasn't an actual shoot. That would have been even cooler.
