It seems like you were going for a more abstract approach here. But, I don't think it quite works.

There are times when you can break rules to further enhance your work. But, you need to know when and where. In this case, I think the judgement was a bit off. The photo looks more like a mistake than an artistic statement.

I think Rob enjoys putting up obnoxiously bad photos to get a rise out of everyone...a quick look through his started threads seems to confirm this especially with the first link, this is the one that really sticks out to me. I think he likes to see how many replies he can get and to get people worked up:

I think it takes more skill to take boring, dull, out of focus pictures than it does clear, focused ones. I mean, it is almost a skill that Rob has, taking such unfocused pictures. It makes me really look at his work, examine it, and try and find the underlying meaning, try and find the purpose to his work. But perhaps he's just showing up how art is subjective, and that a shot need not have technical prowess to have artistic value. I'm not sure, and maybe that's how I'm supposed to feel after looking at Rob's work. Unsure of his art, my art, and art in general. Perplexing is Rob. Rob is perplexing.

It's decent, but only because the title gives me the feeling I believe you're trying to convey. Without the title, I don't think this picture could stand by itself.

I still do admire you for continuing to post pictures. I actually get excited when I see your name below the thread title because I really like some of what you've done.
